After a very long time, the ICPC Kanpur Regional is going Multi-Site again in 2026! The onsite contest will be conducted across three centres—Kanpur, Gandhinagar, and Pune—creating more onsite opportunities and reducing travel for teams across India.

About the contest

The world’s premier programming competition for university students, progressing from regional contests toward Asia West and the ICPC World Finals.

ICPC Kanpur is India’s oldest regional site, carrying forward a proud legacy of collegiate programming competition. In 2026, CSJM University, Kanpur will host the event for the ninth consecutive time. The onsite round will be held on 22–23 December 2026 at three centres.

1. Form an eligible team

Form a team of three students and one coach from the same institution.

2. ICPC Global — Team Registration by the Coach

The coach registers the team and all three students at the ICPC Kanpur Preliminary Site.

3. ICPC Global — Profile Completion by the Students

All three students complete their ICPC profiles using their invitation emails.

4. Pay the fee and submit documents

From 15 August, submit the fee, payment proof, undertaking, and institutional verification.

Registration FAQs

Questions teams ask most often

What is the difference between a regional site and an onsite centre?

Kanpur, Amritapuri, Chennai, and Mathura are four independent regional sites. Kanpur Multi-Site alone conducts its 2026 onsite contest at three centres: Kanpur, Gandhinagar, and Pune. A centre is a venue within Kanpur Regional Multi-Site, not a separate regional site.

Is there one preliminary contest for the four regional sites?

Yes. The ICPC India Preliminary Round is common to Kanpur, Amritapuri, Chennai, and Mathura. Each regional site independently selects from the teams registered for that site.

Should we register and pay separately for each regional site?

Yes. Register and pay the applicable registration fee separately for every regional site your team wishes to participate in. A team can participate in a maximum of two regional sites.

Who can form an ICPC team?

A team consists of three eligible student contestants and one coach. All contestants and the coach must belong to the same College/institution. Students may be from any eligible academic branch.

Can one coach register multiple teams?

Yes. A coach may guide and register multiple teams, but every team must have its own three eligible contestants and complete the registration formalities.

When is a team accepted on the ICPC portal?

Acceptance follows verification of the required registration details and payment. The accepted status on the ICPC portal serves as confirmation that the submitted registration has been processed.

How do we know whether payment was received?

Check the team status on the ICPC registration portal and official Kanpur Regional communication. Keep the payment reference and proof available for verification.

Is the registration fee paid by every student?

No. The preliminary contest fee is ₹ 1,500/- per team, not per student. Teams qualifying for the Kanpur Regional onsite round pay an additional Rs 4,500 per team. Do not make duplicate payments for the same team and stage.

How a coach can cancel a team?

The coach signs in to the ICPC registration portal, opens the relevant team registration, and uses the cancellation option. Cancellation must follow the official registration schedule.

Do we need to register for Onsite Round again in case we qualify the Preliminay roud

Selected teams are promoted from the preliminary round to the regional onsite round. They do not need to create a new team registration, but they must complete the Kanpur Regional onsite fee payments, and document requirements communicated to selected teams.

Can we choose our Kanpur Regional onsite centre?

Kanpur Regional conducts the onsite contest in Kanpur, Gandhinagar, and Pune. Selected teams receive their centre information through the official selection (YTD) and confirmation communication.
